We remind you that Ukraine will celebrate the Day of Ukrainian Statehood for the second time. This memorable date is a reminder that state building in Ukraine has more than a thousand years of tradition, and its origins date back to the medieval Russian state, the center of which was Kyiv.
Statehood Day is celebrated on the same day when Ukrainian Christian churches honor the memory of Prince Vladimir the Great of Kyiv and the Day of the Baptism of Rus' and Ukraine.
Prince Vladimir the Great is the personification of Russia's development. His adoption of Christianity as the state religion in 988 became Ukraine's civilizational choice. Russia maintained political, economic and cultural ties with most European states of that time.
The property of Russia is the coat of arms (trident), currency and, above all, Kyiv as the political and cultural center of Ukraine.
