Happy Family Day: support military families on this day! Kyiv

Since 2014, each of us has been dealing with the personal and professional consequences of the Russian invasion of Ukraine. But since February 24, 2022, millions of Ukrainians have experienced such disasters of such magnitude, the implementation of which will become a common task for future generations.

Despite this, each of us proved to ourselves that we are stronger than we thought before. We have all the means in our hands not only to overcome the consequences of Russian aggression, but also to build a better future.

In a war of attrition, each of us must focus on systemic assistance to the country and the victims.

That is why the country's largest transport service, Opti Taxi, has joined forces with the Sobornaya Charitable Foundation.

Together we help the families and children of our defenders, without whom none of us could live in a free country.

Currently, there are millions of people in the Ukrainian Defense Forces and the Armed Forces. The exact number of our fallen defenders is still unknown, but it is safe to say that tens of thousands of children were left without parents, guardians, and only relatives.

As part of the joint project of Opti Taxi and the Sobornaya Charitable Foundation, we are starting to acquaint you with the personal stories of the families and children of our fallen soldiers. This is another reminder of the price of our freedom and the need to support those without whose sacrifices we could not live in a free country.

Story #1

Father Vakul Roman, mother Julia, children Oleg, 18 years old and Dasha, 9 years old.

A happy family of several people lived in Kharkov: father Roman Vasilevich, mother Yulia and two children Oleg and Dasha.

The usual life of a Ukrainian family changed with the start of a full-scale invasion. Roman Vasilyevich decided to defend Ukraine, but in the fall of 2022 he died during the liberation of his native Kharkov region.

Nine-year-old Dasha always sincerely says “I love Kharkiv”, attends art therapy classes, and will soon go on vacation to Borzhava with her mother. The girl tries not to think about how often Kharkiv is shelled. Dasha loves to draw, she always tries to be the first in art therapy classes. At one of the lessons, she showed flowers in her yard in the village ofSlatina.

Oleg, Dasha's older brother, is now 18 years old. The boy is interested in history, he does well at school, he is regularly praised by teachers. This summer is extremely important for Oleg, as he plans to enter the SBU academy to study the professional defense of Ukraine.

Story #2

Father Kokin Vladimir, mother Natalya, daughters Yaroslav 12 years old and Violet 19 years old.

Another defender, Vladimir Vladimirovich Kokin, died during the same period during the liberation of the Kharkov region. His daughters, 12-year-old Yaroslava and 19-year-old Violeta, stayed with their mother Natalia.

Yasya dreams of becoming an artist, loves art therapy and recently got bangs. Together with a friend, she comes up with stories for books. Usually it's fantasy or blockbusters. Soon Yasya and her mother go on vacation to Borzhava (together withthe Vakul family).

Our team is happy that, with the support of our partners, we can give this wonderful family a chance to recover.

We believe that with children like Yasia and Violeta, our country will receive many Cannes Lions.
